I’m a Melbourne-based film photographer with a focus on storytelling, authenticity, and depth.
Since young, I have been fascinated by the way a photograph can freeze reality. They can transport people back in time and re-experience a moment. I wanted this superpower: the ability to communicate feelings and make others feel it too. I’m passionate about creating photos that are meaningful, captivating, and emotive - the kind that you want to hang on your walls.
Stories are not limited by genre and neither are the subjects of my photographs. Whether it’s a story about a human, a place, an event or occassion, I make images that best visualises the narrative that needs to be told.
Film is my preferred medium for creating images because not only does it produce a sense of rawness and tonal aesthetic that is unique to film, the comparatively slower process allows me to connect with my subjects without the distraction of seeing photos immediately. That said, I shoot with digital gear on request and for specific types of photography where immediacy and speed are requirements.
I founded Our Stories on Film, a community for female & non-binary film photographers to share their love of film photography in a safe and inclusive space. What started as a passion project has now become a platform for connecting with and elevating the works of other female & non-binary film photographers. We have launched a community zine and volume 2 ‘Melancholy’ will be available for pre-sale in late 2023.
